London 2012 - 2 - Gardens

The gardens in the Olympic Park were unexpected and delightful; a blaze of colour evocative of a traditional British meadow.

What a wonderful background for such a marvellous sporting occasion!

  1. I like that the planners thought out the little stuff too like the above planting, a typical British meadow, perfect.
The planners seem to have taken a wasted piece of land and have turned it into a usable space for everyone and of course the Olympics.
    Great job !

    cheers, parsnip

  2. Thank you for the flowers. I had read about them in the University of Sheffield magazine, as two professors from there were responsible for designing the display, which will continue into September. I am quite disappointed nothing about the acres of flowers showed up on TV! Well done!

  3. What a lovely, contrast to the very modern buildings, a country meadow.

  5. Oh my goodness! I'd seen two other Olympic posts from friends "over the pond" but they didn't capture these close-up details of the wild flowers - which are my favorite kinds. Gorgeous, Helen. Been missing you! That A-Z road trip...maybe I won't go next year because I've been DYING to see my favorite friends, but made a commitment...
Anyway, did you get in to see any of the events?
