For everyone, the reasons will be different, but I wanted to search around for some of the things which brighten up my day; things for which I am thankful.
A is for MAN AS RAG
or do I mean A SNAG RAM?
or should that be MA RAN GAS?
Hold on. This time, I've really got it...
A is for ANAGRAMS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am one of those people who enjoys playing with words. I don't just like anagrams, adjectives are pretty cool too - as are adverbs, antonyms, alliteration, acronyms, abbreviations, affixes and a whole bunch of other stuff which doesn't happen to begin with A.
At this point, I want to make it clear that if word puzzles are not your thing, you must not feel obliged to plough on. Feel free to go visit someone else instead of me :)
If you are still with me, I hope you find these fun.
I'll start with something easy.
1. NO CAR
Okay so far??
2. OLD MAN
3. A METRIC HIT
4. ROAST A NUT
5. THAT EEL
6. RANCH AID
Nearly there :)
7. SEAPORT HOP
8. GO RIP A LEECH
How did you do? Hope you enjoyed the fun.
By the way, the answers are down here somewhere

3. arithmetic
4. astronaut
5. athlete
6. arachnid
7. apostrophe
8. archipelago
So glad anagrams brighten up your day. I stop at 8 letter ones. Any more takes too long! You are very clever to actually make them. I just solve them.
ReplyDeleteYou are very clever indeed, and a fun way to tease my brain.
ReplyDeleteHa! Love your take on A!
ReplyDeleteI did great with the first 3...
Im no god at puzzle so I cheated and looked at the answers Clever post

ReplyDeleteToo much thinking for me, I just scrolled down and got the answers...Had a great visit, see you again! !
fun. I love word games. These were not easy.
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever! I like anagrams occasionally. I do admit I only got numbers 1, 2 and 5. The rest made my head hurt when I tried to figure what it was. Glad you found enjoyment making and playing with anagrams :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't get one. Oh I really am hopeless at these. I am going to have to go and get a drink to cheer myself up.
ReplyDeleteHE TOLD A HOG
No, no, no! It is too late at night for anagrams, especially in my mental state of oldness!! Maybe tomorrow! Yes, I promise!!
ReplyDeleteI am hopeless at word games and word puzzles, so I'm not even going to attempt this, lest I end up in the doldrums for the rest of the evening, but I do recognise a master when I see one! You're one, H!
ReplyDeleteHello.
ReplyDeleteMy wife is the word buff in the family...she loves puzzles, crosswords & word games. I've even seen her studying a Scrabble dictionary so no one can beat her! I did get "acorn" & "almond". I gave up after that...I'm just a poet (lol).
Excellent way to kick off rd4!
Thanks for sharing.

We have something in our newspaper called "Jumble." There is a drawing with a clue underneath. Next to that is 5 or 6 words you have to unscramble. Certain letters are then chosen from each of these words. Unscramble those letters and you get the answer to the given clue.
ReplyDeleteHope that makes sense!

Late visiting, but love what you did with A :) I'm sort of a Scrabble addict but not so good with ANAGRAMS...I know, that's weird. But love that you're so with it:)
ReplyDeleteGrrrr....Grrrrr...I can't do these. I am horrible at anagrams. I try and a I try but I can never wrap my mind around them at all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a puzzling link to the letter 'A'. ha!
You made me smile!
A+
I guess you'll never suffer Alzheimer's! I do enjoy word games, like Scrabble... but can't say I play often. Language, the written word, communication... these matter a lot to me!
