A short while ago, I posted a photo of a gateway. It met with a surprising number of favourable comments and requests for more so, I have started gateway spotting and, at random intervals, will add another gateway post to the collection.
This one is right opposite Windermere School in Cumbria.
Love gates, any gates the lure of what it leads to is always interesting.

Well, there is so much a gate can say. "Welcome", "Stay Away", "By invitation only".....and there is always the sense of adventure when you first encounter and interesting gate leading down to ?
ReplyDeleteThis is a very intriguing picture you have posted too.Rock wall on one side and a wood post fence enclosing what?
I, too, have a fascination for gateway :) This one is particularly lovely in its snowy setting!
ReplyDeleteLovely gate! It looks well maintained too. Love the snowy scene behing it:)
ReplyDeleteThere is something quite nice about gates, the way they invite you in, a transparency that doors can only aspire to.
ReplyDeleteAnd a smart gateway it is too.
ReplyDeleteHey there are two styles as well! One for left-footed folk like me ( I always scored my goals with the left foot) and one for right-footers...
ReplyDeleteI probably meant stiles but I'm not sure....
